Pune: Governor C Vidyasagar Rao released the Marathi version of the book Mann Ki Baat (Part I) in a function held here at Balgandharva Rangmandir on Sunday. 

The book, which is a compilation of radio dialogues by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with citizens, had been released in Hindi and English previously. 

After being published in Hindi and English, it’s the first time that the book is being released in a regional language. Speaking at the book launch, Rao said PM’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has helped increase the involvement of the public in government affairs. 

“Eminent people across the world have appreciated Mann Ki Baat and recognised it as an effective tool for the government to communicate with the public. Because of the show, people realised that the government is sensitive towards their issues. People have found it highly motivating,” Rao said.

MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, who was also present at the book launch, said, “PM has faced criticism, saying that Mann Ki Baat is his monologue. However, there is a whole lot of planning that goes behind one episode of the radio programme. The PM has a team that delves into public issues, people’s suggestions, questions, and then creates the content for Mann Ki Baat. Thus, it is indeed a dialogue between PM and the public.”

Sahasrabuddhe added that the PM and the government have faced criticism and mockery, but gradually, progress is making its way. It happens only when one’s intentions are pure. 
Guardian Minister Girish Bapat, MP Anil Shirole, Mayor Mukta Tilak, Minister of State for Social Justice Dilip Kamble, Yogesh Gogawale, Convener, Navabharat Nirmitee Sankalp Siddhi were also present at the event.
