Medical conference in Dec

Pune: The Pune chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has organised the 28th annual conference ‘Multicon 2018’ on December 8 and 9 at Hyatt Regency, Nagar Road.

Speaking about the forthcoming conference, IMA officials said that it is the only multispeciality conference in Pune which encompasses all specialities and super specialities.

“It is aimed to uplift the standard of medical profession by updating all doctors regarding latest available information on each chosen branch of medicine like cardio-diabetes, haematology liver and heart transplant, robotic surgery, joint replacement surgery, ophthalmology, infertility, telemedicine and oncology by renowned faculties,” said Dr Padma Iyer, President of IMA Pune chapter.

She further added that there is special focus on epilepsy surgery, bariatric surgery, spinal deformities, third space endoscopy, paediatric skin care, hypertension, thyroid disorders, vaccines during pregnancy and liver elastography.
 
“There will also be a debate on, ‘Is medical community really safe?’ The Chief Guest is Dr Bharat Vatwani, a Ramon Magsaysay Awardee who is a renowned psychiatrist and a social reformer who will be delivering motivational speech to take medical social work on a bigger scale,” said Dr Iyer.

She further added that the Guest of Honour will be Dr Hozie Kapadia, President IMA Maharashtra. 
“In this conference, Dr Milind Kirtane, renowned ENT surgeon from Mumbai will deliver a lecture on ‘The Miracle of Cochlear Implant’.  said Iyer.
