Need to change the mindset: Athawale

Pune: Union Minister of State for Social Justice Ramdas Athawale, on Sunday, said that whether there is BJP government or Congress government, the Dalits are getting abused and this will only stop with the change in mindset of people.

Athawale was in the city to attend a function. He spoke with mediapersons and gave a brief about his ministry’s performance in last three years.

Athawale said that incidents of injustice with Dalits are still happening in our society. Some people make it a political issue and start blaming BJP government. But, the government ruling in the states and Centre are not responsible for such incidents.

Some people among society are not ready to change caste structure and are doing injustice with Dalits. This is a social issue. Now, the society has progressed much more, but it is also true that in some areas of the country, we witness injustice against Dalits.
