Pimpri: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate will be inaugurated on the occasion of Independence Day on Wednesday. District Guardian Minister Girish Bapat will hoist the national flag at the Auto Cluster in Chinchwad at 10 am.

RK Padmanabhan has been appointed as Police Commissioner of the new commissionerate. 

The police control room of the new Police Commissionerate will also be functional at Pimpri police station with effect from Wednesday. The police have taken six digit number from the BSNL. All the calls dialed in Pimpri Chinchwad and rural areas on 100 number will be henceforth diverted to the new control room.

The new Police Commissionerate will be located at Premlok Park Colony in Chinchwad. 

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has offered its premises in Nigdi and Chinchwad for the headquarters and other offices of the new Police Commissionerate.
