The BRT project of Swargate-Katraj was halted amid multiple works from past four years."The project was delayed due to technical difficulties and other reasons but now the work is done and in next few days, the minor work will be completed too," Mayor said.

Work on the BRTS route was delayed due to election code of conduct and the construction of two major flyovers and subways. The PMC has also completed with the safety audit of the stretch.

The first BRTS in Pune city was started in 2006 along the Swargate-Katraj stretch as a pilot project. The project however was halted for years. Since then the civic body must have spent over Rs 100 crore on the project.
