Pune, 7th May 2026: Posting a two-wheeler sale advertisement on OLX proved costly for a Pune vehicle owner after a man allegedly escaped with the bike under the pretext of taking a test drive. The accused has now been arrested by the Airport Police.

The arrested accused has been identified as Mohammed Mujabta Iqbal Sheikh (27), a resident of Khadi Machine Chowk in Kondhwa. According to police, the complainant had uploaded an advertisement on OLX to sell his motorcycle.

Soon after, a person using a profile named 'Ishita Mathur' contacted the owner and showed interest in purchasing the vehicle.

The suspect later met the owner and asked for a test drive. However, he allegedly took advantage of the situation and fled with the motorcycle. Following the incident, a case was registered at Airport Police Station.

Acting on the instructions of Senior Police Inspector Govind Jadhav, police constable Ankush Jogdande carried out a technical investigation into the OLX account and mobile number linked to the accused. Police also examined CCTV footage from the area, which helped identify and trace the suspect.

The accused was later detained by the police, and the stolen two-wheeler was recovered from his possession. Further investigation in the case is underway.
