Pune, 25th August 2026: A customer has alleged that he found a worm in a food item purchased from PAUL Bakery at Phoenix Marketcity in Viman Nagar, Pune. The claim has raised concerns about food hygiene and quality-control practices at the outlet.

Vinod Tilekar shared his experience on X, stating that he had purchased food from the bakery to take home a couple of months ago. According to his account, he allegedly found a worm in the food item after reaching home.

Tilekar criticised the quality of the bakery’s products and described the experience as disappointing. He also questioned the standards followed in preparing and serving food at the outlet.

PAUL India’s Pune outlet has not issued a response so far regarding Tilekar’s video and allegations. The customer’s claim has not been independently verified.

The incident has prompted questions about food storage, hygiene and quality-control procedures at the bakery. It remains to be seen whether the Food and Drug Administration will take up or investigate the matter.
