PCMC defers Standing Committee, GB meetings

PIMPRI: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has deferred meetings of its Standing Committee as well as General Body (GB) because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Leader of the House in the PCMC Namdeo Dhake said that the Standing Committee meeting which was to be held on Wednesday has been cancelled due to COVID-19 threat. PCMC’s GB meeting which was to be held on Friday, has also been cancelled.

The Standing Committee considers and approves various development projects. The proposals moved by the Standing Committee and various other committees are discussed, amended or rejected with majority votes by the GB meeting. Meanwhile, the PCMC Health Department has in the past four days taken action against 300 persons who were found spitting in public spaces. Each person was imposed a fine of Rs 150.
