Pimpri-Chinchwad Police seals company involved in selling Mephedrone; drugs worth Rs 20 crores seized

Pimpri-Chinchwad Police sealed a biotech company, involved in manufacturing and selling of Mephedrone drug. 12 people have been arrested in the case

Pimpri: The sleuths from the Anti-Narcotics Branch of Pimpri Chinchwad Police busted a gang of 14 people including a foreigner for allegedly running a drugs deb in Pune and Mumbai. The accused were found to have manufactured 132 kg of mephedrone (MD) drug worth Rs 132 crore at a factory located in Ranjangaon.

The Police raided and sealed a company named Sanyog Biotech where these drugs were produced and have seized cash worth Rs 85 lakh. Recently, the Police had received a tip-off that there is a type of drug that was being manufactured. Subsequently, the cops acted on the tip-off and seized Rs 20 crore worth of MD drugs from a car and arrested five accused.

While the police have already seized MD worth Rs 20 crore, other material worth Rs 90 lakh was seized along with property worth Rs 75 lakh was been attached.

Six teams of police conducted a seven-day investigation at different locations such as Kandivali, Vasai, Palghar, Nashik, Navi Mumbai, Karjat and Mumbai and arrested both Tushar and Rakesh. Tushar Kale is a history-sheeter (a person with a criminal record) and was previously active in the Chhota Rajan gang. He has been charged with eight cases of, extortion, robbery and murder.

According to police, Tushar and Rocky had planned about forming a drug factory while being lodged in jail. They had hired Ashok’s Sanyog Biotech company, which was shut. Kiran who worked as a director with another company in the same area had facilitated with Sankpal and the other accused.

A meeting was held in his office where it was fixed to produce drugs at the rate of Rs 60,000 per kg. Tushar had paid Rs 67 lakh as an advance for the drugs. Police have also attached two-acre land in Palsai (Palghar district) worth Rs 75 lakh which they had bought with money acquired from the drugs sale. Tushar and Khanvidekar also intended to start companies at three other locations.

The accused Kiran Rajguru, Ashok Sankapal, Kiran Kale, Kuldeep Indalkar, along with Tushar Suryakant Kale (resident of Borivali, Mumbai) and Rakesh Srikant Khaniwadekar alias Rocky (resident of Vasai) and Nigerian national Zubi Ifnei Udoko (Naigaon, Vasai), Kuldip Indalkar, Hrushikesh Mishra, Ashok Sankpal, Zubair Mulla are been arrested the police. The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police are investigating the case further.
