Free Health Check-ups: Pune Municipal Corporation will hold free women’s health camps from Sept 17 to Oct 2.
Wide Medical Services: Screenings for diabetes, hypertension, cancer, anemia, TB, and prenatal care will be provided.
Special Temple Drives: Extra camps during Navratri at Chaturshringi, Tambdi Jogeshwari, and Bhavani Mata temples.
PUNE, 17 September 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will host a free health check-up and awareness drive for women and girls under the ‘Healthy Women, Strong Families’ campaign from September 17 to October 2.
The initiative, supported by the Health and Family Welfare Department, aims to strengthen family well-being by improving women’s health.
The camps will run daily from 10 am to 4 pm at all municipal hospitals, urban primary health centres, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, and Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray clinics. Services will include medical check-ups, counseling, and treatment for pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescent girls, and women of all age groups
Doctors will screen for diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, tuberculosis, anemia, and other non-communicable diseases. Prenatal tests, child immunization, and nutritional counseling will also be provided. Specialists in gynecology, pediatrics, ophthalmology, ENT, dentistry, dermatology, psychiatry, orthopedics, and physiotherapy will be available for consultations.
PMC has arranged manpower, medicines, and equipment under the guidance of Dr. Vaishali Jadhav and Dr. Manisha Vinod Naik, with strict planning led by Health Chief Dr. Nina Borade to ensure smooth execution across the city.
During Navratri, special health camps will also be organized near Chaturshringi Devi, Tambdi Jogeshwari, and Bhavani Mata temples to serve devotees and nearby residents. Citizens attending these camps are encouraged to bring their Aadhaar and ration cards to facilitate free registration and benefits under the ABHA Card and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
PMC Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram appealed to women, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers, and children to participate in large numbers and take advantage of this free healthcare opportunity.
