PMC Begins Process for Legal Water Connections in Mohammadwadi After New Tank Project

Pune: water supply likely to start within 10 days; Residents of Undri and Mohammadwadi finally get relief from tanker dependency after years

TBC Desk

Pune, 5th May 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has initiated the process for housing societies in Mohammadwadi to apply for legal water connections, shortly after new overhead water tanks near Ghule Chowk became operational.

A public notice was issued in the area, inviting societies to apply for pipeline connections. This step follows the completion of overhead tanks near Royal Heritage Mall and successful trial runs conducted to check water flow and system efficiency.

According to PMC water supply department, the system is currently undergoing pipeline cleaning and testing. Officials expect water distribution to begin in phases within the next 10 days, ensuring a gradual and stable rollout across the locality.

The civic administration has started the application process in advance to prevent delays once supply begins. Authorities aim to ensure that eligible housing societies start receiving regular water within a month of the system becoming fully operational.

To apply, housing societies must submit requests through a PMC-licensed plumber via the official website. Applicants are also required to visit the Cantonment Water Supply Centre in Camp to complete documentation and verification.

Required documents include ownership proof, approved building plans, occupancy certificates, no-objection certificates, and technical approvals confirming leak-proof internal systems and proper hydraulic testing.

This development is expected to bring significant relief to residents of Undri and Mohammadwadi, who have long struggled with inconsistent water supply and heavy reliance on private water tankers.
