PMC Worker Lost His Life After Being Hit by JCB Bucket in Koregaon Park

Accident Occurred During Ongoing Municipal Work; JCB Driver Booked for Negligence

Pune, 9th December 2025: A Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) employee lost his life after being struck on the head by a JCB machine’s iron bucket during civic work in Koregaon Park on Monday afternoon. The tragic incident took place around 1 PM and a case was later registered at the Koregaon Park Police Station late at night.

The deceased has been identified as Rahul Anil Gosavi (38), a resident of Laxminagar, Yerawada. He was working as a driver in the vehicle department at the PMC’s garbage depot in Koregaon Park.

According to the police, another driver started the JCB machine while Gosavi was nearby. Suddenly, the iron bucket of the JCB dropped and struck Gosavi on the head. He suffered critical injuries and died on the spot.

Following the incident, the police registered a case against the JCB driver, Akshay Zhombade (25), a resident of Uruli Kanchan, for causing death due to negligence. Further investigation is underway.
