PMPML reduces bus pass price to Rs 500 for senior citizens

Sakal Times

Pune: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has finally reduced the price of the bus pass for senior citizens from Rs 700 to Rs 500 after approval from the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) on Saturday. This will give relief to all senior citizens.

Former Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Tukaram Mundhe had increased the amount of the bus pass without taking permission of the RTA. Similarly, the punching pass will also be reintroduced. The new pass prices will be applicable from March 12.

PMPML authorities had sent a proposal to RTA a week ago and it was approved within a week. The decision to increase the price of bus pass was criticised by all sections of society, and after Mundhe’s transfer, PMPML prepared a proposal to reduce the price at the recently held board of directors meeting.
