Pune, 16 June 2025: Thousands of devotees from Pune and across Maharashtra gather every year to witness the grand departure of Sant Shrestha Shri Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Jagadguru Shri Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi processions. To ensure smooth travel for devotees visiting Alandi and Dehu, the PMPML administration has arranged extensive additional bus services.

This year, PMPML has deployed 312 buses making more than 1,300 trips during the Palkhi period. Between June 16 and 20, 146 additional regular buses are running daily to Alandi from major points including Swargate, Hadapsar, Pune Station, PMC Building, Nigdi, Bhosari, Chinchwad, and Hinjawadi. For Dehu, buses are operating from Pune Station, PMC Building, and Nigdi, with bus number 37 serving the Dehu route and 23 special buses running between Dehu and Alandi.

To accommodate the large crowds, buses to Alandi will operate until 12 midnight on Thursday, June 19, and from 3 AM on Friday, June 20, PMPML will run an additional 16 buses, with 113 buses departing from Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad towards Alandi via Bhosari and Vishrantwadi routes starting at 5:30 AM.

On Sunday, June 22, as the Palkhi halts for darshan at Hadapsar, special bus services will run from the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station to various destinations between 12 noon and 1 PM. Due to traffic restrictions on Hadapsar–Saswad Road for the Dive Ghat procession, PMPML will operate 60 additional buses via the Bopdev Ghat route as an alternative.

The PMPML administration has appealed to devotees to make use of these special services and cooperate for a safe and smooth Palkhi Sohala.
