Pune, 6th March 2026: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has announced special tourism bus services across eight routes to mark International Women’s Day on March 8, 2026. The initiative aims to encourage women to step out, explore nearby destinations and celebrate the occasion with family and friends.
The special buses will offer a full-day travel experience to several well-known religious, heritage and scenic spots around Pune district at a concessional fare of ₹500 per passenger. Officials said the initiative is designed to make travel affordable and accessible for women while promoting local tourism.
The buses will depart between 8:30 am and 9 am from key locations including Pune Station, Swargate and Hadapsar Gadital, and will return by evening. The routes will cover destinations such as Morgaon, Jejuri, Saswad, Narayanpur, Theur, Ramdara, the foothills of Sinhagad, Khadakwasla and Panshet dams, Tulapur, Ranjangaon, Lonavala, Bhuleshwar and Baneshwar.
Officials said the routes have been carefully planned to include a mix of pilgrimage circuits, heritage landmarks and scenic locations. “The services have been curated keeping women passengers in mind. The aim is to provide convenient boarding points and a structured day-long itinerary so women can travel comfortably and explore places around Pune,” PMPML officials said.
Women commuters have welcomed the initiative, saying such special services provide a safe and affordable opportunity to travel and celebrate Women’s Day outside the city. PMPML authorities expect a good response and have urged passengers to book early for the tours.
