Pune: Over 1.28 crore Ganesh devotees have visited and taken online darshan of Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati on its website along with Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and other social media channels during the first seven days of the Ganeshotsav.
This is the 128th year of Ganeshotsav celebrated by Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal of Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust. In early August, the trust launched various programs online. Since then, more than two lakh five thousand 833 devotees have been visiting Dagdusheth Ganpati on the trust’s website every day. Thousands of Ganesh devotees are also watching the live Aarti every morning and night through this website.
So, about 95 lakh devotees have taken online darshan of Dagdusheth Ganpati on Facebook, 6 lakh 32 thousand on Instagram, 24 lakh on YouTube and 50,000 on the app. As a result, more than one crore 27 lakh 87 thousand Ganesh devotees have availed the benefit of online darshan till Friday during this year's Ganeshotsav. Many devotees are also taking advantage of the online ‘Abhishek’ registration facility.
Devotees take darshan of 'Bappa' from all corners of the world. Within India, devotees from Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Indore, Nagpur, Jaipur, Delhi, Chennai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Calcutta, Nashik, Surat, Vadodara etc have taken the advantage of online darshan of Ganpati.
Outside India, devotees from USA, England, Dubai, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Germany, Netherlands, Oman, Belgium, New Zealand, Japan, Thailand, Qatar, Ireland, Kuwait etc have visited the trust’s social media accounts to view Dagdusheth Ganpati online
Ashok Godse, Chairman of Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust said, “As the Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir is closed during the festival, mandal workers also do not go to the temple for darshan. Therefore, citizens should not crowd near the temple. There is a 24-hour viewing facility through social media channels like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and website during the festival. However, devotees should not step out of their home unnecessarily and should take advantage of the online facilities for Ganpati darshan.”
