Pune, 12 March 2026: A car met with a serious accident near Navale Bridge on the Pune–Satara Highway on Thursday morning, continuing the series of accidents frequently reported in the area.
The vehicle reportedly hit the road divider and overturned, briefly creating panic among commuters and nearby residents. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident and the driver escaped safely, according to preliminary information.
The accident occurred when a WagonR car travelling from Satara towards Mumbai reached the descending stretch near Navale Bridge. While coming down the slope, the driver allegedly lost control of the speeding vehicle. The car then rammed into the road divider and overturned on the highway.
Despite the busy morning traffic on the route, the overturned vehicle did not cause a major obstruction because it remained in the middle section of the road.
However, the sudden accident triggered concern among motorists passing through the stretch, which has been known for frequent mishaps.
Police teams quickly reached the spot and initiated measures to restore normal traffic movement. A crane was called to remove the damaged vehicle from the road, after which traffic flow returned to normal within a short period.
Officials suspect that the rumblers installed on the highway to slow down vehicles may have contributed to the accident.
The Navale Bridge stretch on the Pune–Satara Highway has witnessed multiple accidents in the past due to the steep slope and heavy traffic movement. Authorities have repeatedly urged motorists to maintain speed limits and drive cautiously while passing through the area.
