The additional slots will enable the launch of new routes connecting Pune with Mangalore, Solapur, and Bagdogra. These routes are expected to strengthen regional connectivity while also supporting tourism and trade across these regions.

The expansion has been facilitated with support from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance airport capacity and improve passenger experience.

Pune Airport continues to play a key role under the Government of India’s UDAN Scheme, which focuses on improving air access to smaller cities. Currently, Pune is connected to destinations such as Nanded, Kishangarh, Sindhudurg, and Jalgaon through this initiative.

Officials said the increased number of flight slots will make travel smoother for passengers and help ease airport congestion. The expansion also reinforces Pune’s growing importance as a regional aviation hub.

Authorities added that further improvements in infrastructure and services are planned to meet the rising demand for air travel, with the new flight schedule already prepared as part of this expansion.
