Pune Airport Wins ‘Best Airport’ Award at Wings India 2026

Punekars have every reason to celebrate as Pune Airport clinches the prestigious “Best Airport – 10–25 MPPA (Million Passengers Per Annum)” award at Wings India 2026, held from January 28–31 in Hyderabad, cementing the city’s growing reputation on India’s aviation map.

The award was presented at Wings India 2026, India’s premier civil aviation event held in Hyderabad from January 28–31. The biennial showcase is co-organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Airports Authority of India (AAI), and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

The award honours Pune Airport for boosting operational efficiency, safety, and passenger experience. Despite rising traffic, it has maintained strong performance in terminal management, on-time operations, compliance, and customer satisfaction within the 10–25 MPPA range.

Pune Airport’s Impact on Regional Growth

Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol praised the airport community, acknowledging the collaborative efforts of AAI officials, airline operators, security staff, and ground handling teams. He stated that this recognition showcases the professionalism and teamwork that ensure safe, efficient, and passenger-friendly services at Pune Airport.

He also highlighted Pune’s growing role in industry, education, and innovation, praising Pune Airport for boosting connectivity and economic growth. With continued infrastructure upgrades and technological improvements, the airport is poised to strengthen its position as a key gateway for Maharashtra.
