Pune, 10th August 2026: Pune Airport recorded its highest-ever number of flight movements in a single day on Sunday, August 9, with 219 flights, 110 arrivals and 109 departures.
The airport had recorded 216 flight movements on August 2, which was the previous highest figure. The latest record also surpassed the earlier record of 212 movements set on June 1, 2025.
The increase in flight movements comes after two new services were introduced from Pune, improving connectivity with Goa, Jalgaon and Mumbai.
Fly91: Mopa–Pune–Jalgaon
The Fly91 service arrives in Pune from Mopa, Goa, at 7.15 pm and departs for Jalgaon at 7.45 pm.
SpiceJet: Mopa–Pune–Mumbai via Pune
The SpiceJet service arrives in Pune from Mopa at 7.20 pm and departs for Mumbai at 8 pm.
These new services are expected to improve regional connectivity and provide passengers with more travel options.
The Indian Air Force provided the airport administration with 15 additional slots during this year's summer schedule, allowing more aircraft movements from Pune. The additional slots have helped airlines increase flight operations and introduce services to new destinations.
Pune Airport currently has direct domestic services to 35 cities and international connectivity to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, taking the total number of connected destinations to 38 cities.
Major domestic destinations include New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The airport also has connectivity to cities such as Jalgaon, Sindhudurg, Nanded, Kochi, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Amritsar, Rajkot, Jodhpur, Surat, Dehradun, Varanasi, Hubballi and Bhubaneswar.
Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol said the focus is on providing world-class facilities through the new terminal while expanding domestic and international connectivity. He said the new Jalgaon and Goa routes would save passengers travel time and support tourism and business activity.
