Pune, 10 December 2025: After facing a week of major flight disruptions, Pune International Airport is returning to normal operations as the number of cancelled and delayed flights has dropped significantly. Passengers, who were troubled by frequent schedule changes over the past several days, are now seeing improved flight regularity.

The disruption was largely linked to Indigo Airlines, which faced operational challenges following changes in Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) norms for pilots. From December 1 to 9, a total of 208 flights were cancelled and 101 flights were delayed at Pune airport.

The situation worsened midweek, with December 4 and 5 recording the highest number of cancellations at 35 and 53 flights respectively. Delays also peaked during this period.

However, the situation began improving after December 6. On December 7, 30 flights were cancelled, which further dropped to 22 on December 8 and just 10 on December 9. Delayed flights also reduced steadily during this period, bringing relief to travellers.

Improved coordination at the airport control room, rescheduling of air traffic routes and faster communication with airlines helped bring stability to operations. As flight timings became more predictable, passenger complaints also showed a noticeable decline, helping travellers manage their onward journeys more smoothly.

Airport Director Santosh Dhoke said that Indigo had cancelled several services due to technical reasons, which caused major inconvenience to passengers. He added that other airlines continued normal operations and that all airport teams remained active on the ground to assist passengers during the disruption.
