Pune: Amitabh Gupta appointed as the new City Police Commissioner

Pune: The much-awaited decision and discussion of the replacement of the Pune City Police Commissioner Dr K. Venkatesh's transfer orders were discussed but on Thursday late evening the Maharashtra state government passed the order and now Dr Venkatesh has been transferred and posted as the head of the Special Mission Maharashtra. The government has announced that Amitabh Gupta will be appointed as the Pune City Police Commissioner.

Pune City Police Commissioner Dr K. Venkatesh had taken over the reins in August 2018. Since then, during his tenure, work has been done to increase communication between the police and the citizens by implementing various initiatives in the interest of the citizens.

Many of these initiatives have been especially appreciated by the citizens of Pune. So now Dr K. Venkatesh tenure which he successfully managed for two years tenure and will be replaced by Amitabh Gupta has been appointed in his place.

Abhinav Deshmukh as Pune Rural Superintendent

Pune Rural Superintendent Sandeep Patil has been transferred with promotion to Gadchiroli. On Thursday late evening, the Kolhapur Superintendent of Police Abhinav Deshmukh was appointed as Pune Rural Superintendent.
