The incident came to light after a suspicious object was found in the hospital’s parking area, triggering panic among staff, patients and visitors. After receiving the alert, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) rushed to the spot and began an immediate inspection.

During the examination, officials found gelatin sticks inside the object. The explosive material was later shifted to a secure location and safely neutralized to prevent any danger.

Following preliminary findings, police took the suspect into custody and intensified the investigation. Authorities are now trying to determine how the accused obtained the gelatin sticks and whether the act was part of a larger plan.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has joined the probe along with local police. Investigators are examining the exact motive behind the incident and checking if anyone else was involved.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the object recovered from the Pune hospital was indeed a bomb and termed the incident an act of sabotage. Police were continuing further legal action late into the night at Hadapsar Police Station.
