Pune: Traffic Diversions Announced in Camp Area Ahead of Christmas Celebrations

Temporary traffic changes will be implemented in Pune’s Camp (Lashkar) area on December 24 and 25 to manage crowds and prevent congestion during Christmas festivities.

Pune, 24 December 2025: In view of Christmas celebrations, the Pune Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic diversions in the Camp (Lashkar) area, where a large number of citizens are expected to gather. To avoid traffic congestion and ensure smooth movement, these changes will be in effect on December 24 and 25 from 7 pm onwards.

According to the traffic police order, vehicles coming from Y Junction towards MG Road will not be allowed beyond 15 August Chowk. Instead, traffic will be diverted via Qureshi Masjid and Sujata Mastani Chowk.

Similarly, traffic from ISKCON Temple Chowk heading towards Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar statue and Arora Towers will be restricted and redirected through SBI House Chowk, Three Guns Chowk, and Lashkar Police Station.

Traffic Movement Changes in Pune’s Camp Area

  • Vehicles coming from Y Junction towards MG Road will be stopped at 15 August Chowk and diverted via Qureshi Masjid Chowk and Sujata Mastani Chowk.

  • Traffic from ISKCON Temple Chowk towards Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Statue and Arora Towers will be closed and diverted right from SBI House Chowk, via Three Guns Chowk, towards Lashkar Police Station.

  • Vehicles moving from Volga Chowk towards Mohammad Rafi Chowk will not be allowed and will be diverted straight along East Street towards Indira Gandhi Chowk.

  • Traffic from Indira Gandhi Chowk towards Mahavir Chowk will be restricted and redirected towards Lashkar Police Station Chowk.

  • Vehicles heading from Sarbatwala Chowk towards Mahavir Chowk will be stopped and diverted through Taboot Street.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav has issued the order, stating that the measures are temporary and aimed at crowd management and public safety. The traffic police have urged citizens to cooperate and follow the revised routes to avoid inconvenience during the festive period.
