Pune Grand Tour: On Wednesday, January 21, all private and government schools in the Pune Cantonment area will remain closed as road closures are enforced for Stage 2 of the Pune Grand Tour 2026. The race will kick off from the Ladies Club in Pune Camp, traverse key roads within the Cantonment jurisdiction, and then head towards Bopdev Ghat.
On Tuesday, Pune district collector Jitendra Dudi released a notification regarding this. Stage 2 of the Pune Grand Tour covers a distance of 109 kilometers and features an elevation gain of 1,466 meters. This stage will take place in the Pune, Purandar, Rajgad, and Haveli areas of Pune district, which are recognized for their challenging landscapes. Dudi explained that the holiday is designated solely for schools in the region and does not apply to colleges.
The notification issued by District Collector Jitendra Dudi read: “The Stage 2 of the Pune Grand Tour will start from Ladies Club and take the route via East Street, Khanya Maruti Chowk, Pulgate, Solapur bazar Chowky, Golibar Maidan, Lullarnagar Chowk, Jyoti Hotel Chowk, Khadi Machine, Yewalewadi before moving towards Bopdev Ghat. Considering the inconvenience this will cause to the private and government schools in the area, it is necessary that they remain closed on January 21.”
“Under powers as the Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority and as per the powers given by the School Education and Sports Department, January 21 has been declared as holiday for the private and government schools in Pune Cantonment area on January 21 for the Stage 2 of the Pune Grand Tour.”
The second stage of the Pune Grand Tour is set to commence from the Ladies Club at 12:30 PM on Wednesday and is anticipated to finish at approximately 3:40 PM at Nanded City.
