The victim, identified as Karan Girish Kashid, a resident near Dhayareshwar Temple in Dhayari, was attacked on the evening of March 16. According to police, the assault stemmed from a recent dispute in Karvenagar, reportedly triggered by a minor altercation between the groups.

The accused allegedly attacked Kashid with a sharp weapon and stones, leaving him critically injured. He later succumbed to his injuries.

During the investigation, Sinhagad Road police analyzed CCTV footage, which helped identify the suspects. Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Crime Branch laid a trap near a forest area close to a labour settlement in Karvenagar and detained the three minors.

Police officials confirmed that the accused confessed to attacking the victim. They have now been handed over to Sinhagad Road Police Station for further legal proceedings.
