Introduced to operate primarily on Saturdays and Sundays, the PMPML tourism buses have become a popular choice for those wishing to visit key religious and tourist destinations in and around Pune. On weekdays, buses are run if there are at least 15 to 20 confirmed bookings. Since January 2025, the monthly revenue from this service has shown a consistent upward trend.

According to PMPML data, the service earned ₹3.47 lakh in January, ₹2.17 lakh in February, ₹2.36 lakh in March, ₹1.56 lakh in April, and ₹4.75 lakh in May, culminating in ₹6.48 lakh for June. This growing revenue suggests an increasing public interest in structured, local sightseeing options.

The bus routes cover a wide variety of culturally and spiritually significant locations including temples in Junnar, Saswad, Narayanpur, Purandar, and Alandi, as well as major sites like Sinhagad Fort, Khadakwasla Dam, Panshet, Balaji Temple, and various museums and gardens within the city. Each bus route is carefully curated to highlight Pune’s heritage, spirituality, and natural beauty.

Officials have urged citizens, especially women, nature lovers, tourists, and pilgrims, to take advantage of these affordable and enriching experiences, especially during the holy months of Ashadh and Shravan. The PMPML has expressed its commitment to enhancing these services in line with the enthusiastic public response.
