Pune: Youth Booked for Flying Drone in Restricted Magazine Guard Area in Dighi

Accused allegedly trespassed into sensitive zone by damaging boundary fencing; Police say the act posed a serious security risk, investigation is ongoing

Pune, 24 March 2026: A 20-year-old youth has been booked by Dighi Police for allegedly flying a drone without permission in the highly sensitive Magazine Guard area, raising serious security concerns.

The incident occurred on Saturday (March 21) around 6:30 pm. According to police officials, the accused unlawfully entered the restricted premises by lifting a portion of the boundary fencing before operating the drone inside the secured zone.

A 52-year-old security staff member on duty noticed the activity and filed a complaint at Dighi Police Station, following which a case was registered against the youth.

Police have stated that the act posed a significant threat to security and public safety, given the sensitive nature of the location. Further investigation is currently underway to determine the intent and any potential risks linked to the incident.
