Pune Accident: Drunk Driver Runs Over Man After Dragging Him on Bonnet

Pune Accident: Victim Killed in Brutal Midnight Crash on Hadapsar–Saswad Road; The accused driver has been arrested

Pune, 14 April 2026: A 41-year-old man was killed in a horrific road accident after a speeding car driven by a drunk man hit him, dragged him on the bonnet, and later ran over him near Uruli Devachi on the Hadapsar–Saswad road late Sunday night.

The victim, Sagar Balasaheb Saykar, a resident of Shewalwadi, was passing near a hotel in the area around 12:30 am when the accused, Krishna Gopal Koilwad from Fursungi, allegedly rammed his car into him at high speed while under the influence of alcohol.

Due to the impact, Saykar was thrown onto the bonnet of the car. Instead of stopping, the driver continued driving, dragging him for some distance. After Saykar fell onto the road, the accused ran the vehicle over him, causing fatal injuries.

Police reached the spot after being alerted and took the accused into custody. The complaint in the case was filed by Vijay Tanaji Shirke, a resident of Hadapsar.

Further investigation is currently in progress.
