Pune News: Action on Encroachments on Fergusson Road; Pune Municipal Corporation's Crackdown on 77 Unauthorized Vendors

PMC Action: The municipal corporation took action against 77 unauthorized vendors at FC Road, BMCC Road, Khandoji Baba Chowk, and other places in Pune post midnight.

Pune: The municipal corporation took action against 77 unauthorized vendors selling clothes, cutlery, toys, hosiery, and other items by obstructing the footpaths on Gopal Krishna Gokhale Road (Fergusson College Road), BMCC College Road, Aryabhushan Pumping Station, Khandoji Baba Chowk, and Jangli Maharaj Road on Thursday (24th) after 11 PM.

Complaints were received against vendors using gas cylinders illegally for their businesses. Additionally, activities such as selling clothes from boxes on the streets and selling food items continue even after midnight.

Most of these vendors were operating without any license. Citizens had filed complaints against them. The action was carried out under police protection under the guidance of Encroachment Department Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Khalate.
