Pune, 26 February 2026: For the first time at Pune Airport, flyers may be assisted by a humanoid robot. Spaceo M1, an AI-powered creation from Pune-based Muks Robotics, has begun an 8–10 day trial, offering a glimpse of the city’s tech-forward future.

Stationed on the arrivals side, the robot helps travellers with a variety of queries, from local tourist spots and cab bookings to restaurant recommendations, bringing a uniquely interactive and futuristic touch to the passenger experience.
Pune Airport is currently testing Spaceo M1, a socially interactive robot developed by Dr. Mukesh Bangar, founder and CEO of Muks Robotics. Capable of performing over 35 independent tasks, the wheel-based robot can provide real-time flight information, guide passengers to check-in counters, boarding gates, washrooms, and carry luggage up to 60 kg.
Unlike static kiosks, Spaceo M1 can autonomously navigate airport floors, walk alongside passengers, and even detect suspicious activity. It supports over 85 languages, including Hindi, English, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu, addressing language barriers for international travelers.
The 8–10 day testing phase covers entrances, check-in/out zones, boarding gates, and baggage claim areas. Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke confirmed the trial will evaluate performance, passenger interaction, and technical capabilities.
If successful, at least three robots would be needed for full airport coverage. Spaceo M1 is also slated for trials at Pune Metro’s Civil Court station in March and may be deployed at Navi Mumbai International Airport in the future.
