Pune, 24 January 2026: The Pune Grand Tour was conducted safely and efficiently due to detailed planning and effective coordination by the city police and traffic department. With a deployment of nearly 5,000 police officers and personnel, the event passed without major disruption to daily life in the city.
Under the leadership of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and Joint Commissioner Ranjankumar Sharma, senior officers worked closely to manage security and traffic arrangements. Additional Police Commissioner Manoj Patil and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav played key roles in executing the on-ground plan.
To ensure the safety of citizens and participants, around 1,900 barricades were installed across the city. These barricades were systematically relocated each day according to the race stages. Traffic diversions were implemented only for limited durations, except at the start and finish points, and roads were reopened immediately after cyclists passed.
The district administration supported the police by providing essential resources, including barricades. District Collector Jitendra Dudi extended crucial cooperation, enabling smooth execution of security measures.
Speaking about the arrangements, Additional Police Commissioner Manoj Patil said that special care was taken to ensure that citizens faced minimal inconvenience. Planned traffic changes and quick restoration of routes helped prevent congestion, ensuring the city functioned smoothly throughout the event.
