Pune, 10 February 2026: A 28-year-old man from Pune, named Vikas, has gone viral on social media, not for a dance reel or travel vlog, but for an Excel sheet. Originally from Haryana, Vikas works as a consultant in a metal company.

When his family began discussions around arranged marriage, the constant questions about new proposals and their outcomes prompted him to create a simple but structured solution: an Excel tracker.

The Excel sheet recorded details such as names, call information, and feedback from potential matches. What began as a personal tool soon caught public attention after Vikas shared a video about it on Instagram.

The clip quickly went viral, crossing more than 700,000 views, with users flooding the comment section with praise, humour, and suggestions. Some recommended adding a unique ID system, while others suggested turning it into a full dashboard.

After the video went viral, Vikas said the response surprised him. “Maybe my chances of getting married have actually improved,” he said. According to him, several women have now started sending him direct messages themselves. He added that his parents are happy, his friends are amused, and even the women whose names appeared in the Excel sheet took it positively and congratulated him.

However, the viral moment also sparked debate. Some users questioned whether speaking to multiple people at the same time was appropriate and whether it blurred the line between arranged marriage and dating. Despite the criticism, the discussion itself made the story stand out.

This incident reflects changing attitudes towards relationships and marriage among today’s generation. It highlights how young people are using tools, logic, and even humour to navigate traditionally emotional decisions. In this case, an Excel sheet became more than just a tracker, it became a symbol of evolving mindsets in modern matchmaking.
