Pune, 11th August 2026: To ease traffic the Kharadi–Keshavnagar Bridge is expected to open to public on August 15. Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram directed officials to complete all necessary works before the deadline.
Commissioner inspected the bridge along with senior civic officials and reviewed the progress of the project. Chief Engineer Rajesh Bankar was instructed to ensure that the remaining work required to make the bridge operational is completed by August 15.
During the inspection of the North Main Road stretch from ABC Farm Chowk to Tadi Gutta Chowk, the Commissioner directed officials to speed up road-widening work.
Utility lines obstructing the widening project will be shifted on priority. Officials were also asked to expedite the remaining land acquisition process so that the road work can be completed at the earliest.
Ram also inspected the road near Hadapsar Railway Station, where stormwater drain and drainage line works are currently underway.
Officials were instructed to complete these works quickly as the road handles heavy traffic. The PMC directed officials, contractors and technical consultants to coordinate closely to avoid delays and minimise.
Although the Kharadi–Keshavnagar Bridge will be opened to traffic on August 15, road-related work at the site will continue. Ram appealed to citizens to cooperate while the remaining work is carried out.
