Pune Mayor’s Office Receives Bomb Threat through Email; Security Tightened Across Key Locations

Pune, 10th June 2026: Panic briefly spread in the city after the official email account of the Pune Mayor’s Office received a bomb threat message. The email allegedly warned of IED (Improvised Explosive Device) blasts and mentioned the Pune Mayor’s Office, certain locations in Nagpur, and the RSS headquarters as potential targets.

Following the threat, Pune Police, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), and cyber crime officials immediately launched an investigation. Security has been strengthened at all locations mentioned in the email as a precautionary measure.

Authorities are currently examining the origin of the email, including the IP address and other digital evidence, to determine whether the threat is genuine or a hoax. So far, no suspicious objects or explosives have been found at any of the locations.

Senior police officials said that a detailed investigation is underway to identify the individual or group behind the email. Citizens have been advised not to panic while remaining alert and reporting any suspicious activity to the authorities.

Additional security personnel have been deployed around the Pune Mayor’s Office, the RSS headquarters, and the locations mentioned in Nagpur until the threat assessment is completed.
