Pune, 15th July 2026: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has significantly increased the number of E-Shivai bus services between Pune and Mumbai following major disruptions to railway operations caused by a landslide near the Lonavala-Karjat section.
Several trains on the Pune-Mumbai route have been cancelled after the landslide affected rail traffic, prompting many passengers to switch to road transport.
To handle the increased demand, MSRTC has raised the number of daily E-Shivai bus trips between Pune and Mumbai from the usual 80–90 services to 130 trips. The additional buses are being operated to ensure passengers affected by the train cancellations can travel without major inconvenience.
The expanded bus services are expected to provide relief to thousands of commuters travelling between Pune and Mumbai until normal railway operations resume. MSRTC officials said the increased frequency has been introduced in response to the surge in passenger traffic caused by the ongoing rail disruption.
