The situation is particularly worse on the Pune-bound lane, where a sharp rise in vehicle numbers has disrupted the flow completely. Due to the winding terrain of the ghat and heavy traffic, many commuters have been stuck on the road for hours, leading to major delays in travel time.

The congestion has affected daily schedules, especially for those travelling for work, medical emergencies, or other urgent purposes. Frustration among passengers is growing as the traffic remains largely unmanaged.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact reason behind the traffic jam, though an accident is suspected. Commuters are advised to consider alternative routes until the situation improves.
