Pune News: PMPML Bus Catches Fire Near College Campus in Shivajinagar

Timely action by locals and fire brigade prevents major disaster; no casualties reported as bus was empty

Pune, 12 July 2025: A PMPML bus parked near the College of Agriculture in Shivajinagar, Pune, caught fire on Friday night around 8:30 PM. The incident created panic in the area, but alert citizens quickly responded using fire extinguishers in an attempt to douse the flames before emergency services arrived.

According to eyewitnesses, smoke was first noticed billowing from the engine compartment of the parked bus. Locals in the vicinity rushed to the scene and tried to control the fire using available fire safety equipment. Their swift response helped slow the spread of the flames and limited the damage.

Shortly after the fire broke out, two fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and took charge of the situation. Within a short time, the blaze was completely brought under control. Their efforts ensured the fire did not spread further or cause damage to nearby vehicles or property.

Fortunately, no one was inside the bus at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but authorities have confirmed that no casualties occurred, averting what could have been a serious mishap.
