Pune Civic Body Warns Parents Against 13 Unauthorized Schools Ahead of Academic Year 2026-27

Pune Municipal Corporation says admissions in unrecognized schools could harm students academic future; Authorities have been directed to shut down the schools and display public warning notices outside their premises

Pune, 7th May 2026: The Primary Education Department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued a public warning to parents against enrolling their children in 13 unauthorized schools operating across the city for the 2026–27 academic year.

According to civic officials, these schools have been functioning without valid government recognition. PMC stated that students studying in such institutions may face serious academic difficulties and uncertainty regarding their future educational progression.

  1. Millennium Star English Medium School – Bibvewadi

  2. Mahatma Gandhi Prashala – Yerwada

  3. Teams Takwa Islamic School & Maktab – Kondhwa Khurd

  4. St.view International School – Kondhwa Budruk

  5. Emmanuel Public School – Hadapsar

  6. Akanksha Academy School – Lohgaon

  7. Elora Medical and Education Foundation Aryan Public School – Manaji Nagar

  8. Legacy High School – Kondhwa Budruk

  9. Shibli Nomani English Medium School – Kondhwa Budruk

  10. Orchid The International School – Undri

  11. Global Education Trust / Iqra Islamic School – Kondhwa

  12. Global English Medium School – Ambegaon Budruk

  13. Aryan World School – Undri

PMC has instructed education authorities and block education officers to take immediate steps to stop these schools from operating. Officials have also been directed to place warning boards outside the institutions and issue public notices to prevent further admissions.

The civic body said strict action and responsibility would fall on concerned administrative officers if any unauthorized school continues to function within their jurisdiction. Parents have been advised to verify a school’s official recognition status before confirming admissions.

PMC said the advisory has been issued to protect students and ensure that education in Pune is provided only through recognized and approved institutions.
