  2. Decision based on a state government circular issued on October 1, 2025.

Pune, 14 October 2025: In a festive relief for locals and business owners, Pune Police have permitted all licensed firecracker shops in the city to remain open around the clock from October 11 to October 21. This move aims to ensure the uninterrupted supply of fireworks during the Diwali celebrations.

The decision aligns with a circular issued by the State Department of Industries, Energy, Labour, and Mining on October 1, 2025, allowing licensed vendors to extend their operating hours. Each year, many temporary stalls are set up across the Pune Municipal Corporation, cantonment areas, and nearby towns for selling firecrackers.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Rajlaxmi Shivankar has instructed all police divisions to notify their respective stations about the new directive and to make sure that licensed vendors are not subjected to undue hassle from officials.

With this move, Pune residents will be able to purchase firecrackers at any time of the day or night throughout the festive period, making this Diwali celebration even more vibrant and convenient.
