Assistant Police Inspector Ravindra Alekar stated that a fresh case has been filed against Ghaywal under the Arms Act. The operation occurred on Saturday at Ghaywal's home and office located in Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Colony, Kothrud, with a significant police presence in the vicinity.

Ghaywal and his associates were earlier charged under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) after the Kothrud shooting incident. Those arrested in connection with the case were Mayur Kumbre, Rohit Akhade, Ganesh Raut, Mayank also known as Monty Vyas, Anand Chandlekar also known as Andya, and Dinesh Phatak. Nevertheless, Ghaywal escaped to Switzerland by using a forged passport, allegedly changing his surname from 'Ghaywal' to 'Gaywal.'

Ghaywal, a native of Jamkhed, possesses real estate and an office in Kothrud. Authorities are probing into his financial origins and any associates who might have assisted him in acquiring the passport. His ten bank accounts have been frozen, and a lookout notice has been issued for him.
