Pune, 31st July 2026: Services at Pune Railway Station will remain affected by a special nine-hour traffic and power block on Sunday (August 2) as Central Railway undertakes an important infrastructure upgrade in the Pune yard. The block will remain in effect from 8 am to 5 pm, significantly impacting train operations at the station.
The work involves replacing DDS Point Nos. 232 and 226 on the Pune-Daund section with new 60-kg capacity points. Engineering, signalling, telecommunications and overhead equipment-related works will also be carried out during the block to improve operational efficiency and safety.
Due to the maintenance work, seven trains have been completely cancelled, including Pune-Talegaon, Pune-Lonavala, Lonavala-Shivajinagar suburban services, the CSMT Mumbai-Pune Express (11007/11008) and the Pune-Daund DEMU.

Several long-distance trains will also face operational changes. Trains arriving from Jaipur, Nagpur, Amravati, Jammu Tawi and CSMT Mumbai will terminate at Khadki or Hadapsar instead of Pune. Similarly, outbound services to Jaipur, Nagpur, CSMT Mumbai and Lonavala will originate from alternate stations rather than Pune.
During the block period, the up main line towards Pune yard, Platform No. 1, and Lines 1 to 6 will remain closed for train movement.
Central Railway has advised passengers to check the latest status and revised timings of their trains through the NTES app or the official railway enquiry portal before leaving for the station. The railway administration said the upgrade work is essential to improve the safety, speed and overall efficiency of train operations in the future.
