Pune, 26 July 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has updated the water supply schedule for several eastern parts of the city, including Viman Nagar, Dhanori, Lohgaon, Kalwad, Harantale, and surrounding areas. This change comes as part of the Bhama Askhed Water Supply Scheme, under which new water storage tanks have been constructed and are now being commissioned.
With the operationalisation of these tanks, the water distribution system is being reorganized to better manage supply across localities. The revised schedule will come into effect from July 31, 2025, and will include varying water supply timings across different neighbourhoods, ranging from early morning hours to late at night.
Residents in these areas are advised to take note of the changes, as they may experience temporary disruptions or adjustments in their routine. The new schedule covers a wide stretch of residential societies, colonies, and roads, and includes timings that span over 20 different time slots to manage supply efficiently.
Eknath Gadekar, Executive Engineer of the PMC’s Bund Garden Water Supply Department, has urged citizens to cooperate, stating that though the timing adjustments might cause minor inconvenience initially, the changes aim to ensure more consistent and systematic water distribution in the long run.
This move is part of PMC’s broader strategy to modernize the city’s water infrastructure and optimize resources from the Bhama Askhed reservoir, especially for fast-growing areas in the eastern corridor of Pune.
Citizens can check their local area’s specific supply timing through PMC’s official communication or notices put up in respective societies and local offices.
