Pune, 10 April 2026: The Standing Committee of the Pune Municipal Corporation has approved a proposal to construct grand entry gates named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at key entry points of the city.
These gateways will be designed to highlight city’s cultural, historical, and modern identity, offering visitors a strong first impression as they enter the city. The initiative is also expected to enhance the overall visual appeal of Pune.
The project will be implemented in phases across major city boundaries. According to standing committee chairman Srinath Bhimale, the initiative will not only beautify the city but also instill a sense of pride among citizens while supporting planned urban development.
