Other parts of the city also witnessed high daytime temperatures. According to the data, Shivajinagar recorded 35.9°C, followed by Chinchwad at 35.7°C, Lavale and Hadapsar at 35.6°C, Wadgaon Sheri at 35.4°C, and Magarpatta at 35.2°C.

Shivajinagar has recorded temperatures above 35°C for two consecutive days, indicating a steady rise at the start of the summer season.

The minimum temperature in Shivajinagar was 16.7°C, which is about 2°C higher than normal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the daytime temperature in Pune and nearby areas is expected to increase slightly over the next two days.

However, the IMD has also forecast light rainfall in some parts of Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra on March 5 and 6, while the weather in Pune is likely to remain mostly clear over the next three days.

An IMD scientist explained that fluctuations in temperature are common during seasonal transitions. “At present, an anticyclonic condition is prevailing over Maharashtra. During such situations, winds remain calm, which leads to a rise in temperature. Over the next few days, temperatures may increase by another one to two degrees Celsius,” the scientist said.
