Pune, 10th July 2026: Traffic Police have announced a comprehensive traffic management plan for Saturday, July 11, when the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhis will leave Pune after their two-day halt and proceed towards Pandharpur.
The restrictions have been imposed under the Motor Vehicles Act to ensure the safe movement of the Palkhis and prevent traffic congestion. Essential service vehicles, including ambulances, fire brigade vehicles, police vehicles and fuel transport vehicles, will be allowed to pass.
The procession will begin from Palkhi Vitthal Temple, Bhavani Peth, and pass through:

Bhavani Mata Temple
Mukti Fauj Chowk
Pulgate
Mamma Devi Chowk
Solapur Road
Hadapsar Gadital
Dive Ghat before proceeding to Saswad

The Palkhi will resume its journey towards Pandharpur via Yavat early on Sunday, July 12.
Traffic Police said roads along the Palkhi route will be closed in phases from 2 am on Saturday until the processions leave the Pune City limits. Commuters have been advised not to enter the Palkhi route and instead use the designated diversion routes.
Several stretches including Sant Kabir Chowk, Belbag Chowk, Ramoshi Gate, Seven Loves Chowk, Golibar Maidan, Mamma Devi Chowk, Wanowrie, MG Road, Bhairoba Nala, BT Kawade Road junctions, Ramtekdi, Hadapsar, Fatima Nagar, Sade Satra Nali, Solapur Road, Manjari and Dive Ghat will remain closed or face traffic diversions depending on the movement of the Palkhis.
Traffic on Solapur Road and connecting junctions will be regulated temporarily as the Palkhis and Dindis pass through. Vehicles heading towards Saswad through Dive Ghat and Bopdev Ghat will also be diverted until the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi reaches Saswad.
To ensure the safety of Warkaris and devotees:
Parking of all vehicles has been prohibited on both sides of the Palkhi route.
The restriction also applies to connecting roads up to approximately 100 metres from the procession route.
Roads will be reopened in phases after the Palkhis pass.
Pune Traffic Police have appealed to citizens to cooperate with the revised traffic arrangements and follow directions issued by traffic personnel. Motorists travelling towards Saswad have been advised to use the Bhairoba Nala–Lullanagar–Kondhwa–Khadimachine Chowk–Bopdev Ghat route as an alternative.
