The blasting will be carried out between 11 am and 2 pm to facilitate widening of the road in the Dive Ghat section. Authorities have said the measure is necessary to ensure the safety of commuters during the operation.

The decision to suspend traffic has been jointly taken by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and city traffic police. “Considering public safety, all types of vehicular movement through Dive Ghat will be stopped during the blasting period,” officials said.

During the closure, ST and PMPML bus services operating between Pune and Saswad via Dive Ghat will be diverted through the Bopdev Ghat route. The administration has appealed to motorists to avoid the Dive Ghat stretch during the specified hours and instead use the Bopdev Ghat route via Kondhwa as an alternative.

Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate, stating that the temporary inconvenience is essential for the smooth and safe completion of the highway widening work.
