Pune, 4th September 2026: Pune Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions across the city on September 4 and 5 in view of Krishna Janmashtami and Dahi Handi celebrations.
The measures are aimed at managing large crowds and preventing traffic congestion in the central parts of the city and several suburban areas.
Traffic restrictions will remain in place on Shivaji Road, Laxmibai Road, Bajirao Road and Tilak Road until the Dahi Handi celebrations are completed and crowds disperse.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr Sandeep Bhajibhakare, the diversions have been introduced to ensure smoother traffic movement during the celebrations.
In the Warje traffic division, changes will be in force on both September 4 and 5.
Traffic travelling from Ambedkar Chowk towards Church Chowk will be diverted via Karve Road towards Warje Junction. Traffic between Rajaram Bridge and Ambedkar Chowk will be routed through Vandevi and Karve Road.
