Pune, 25 March 2026: The Pune Traffic Police’s ‘PTP’ app has emerged as an effective tool in enforcing traffic discipline across the city. Around 2.5 lakh complaints have been filed by citizens so far, leading to significant action against violators.
According to officials, more than 1.55 lakh users have actively used the app to report traffic violations. Out of 2.49 lakh complaints received, over 1.76 lakh cases were verified, resulting in fines worth ₹9.32 crore being collected.
To encourage citizen participation, the traffic department honoured individuals who reported the highest number of violations in February. The felicitation ceremony was held on March 23 at the Police Commissionerate.
Cash rewards and certificates were awarded, with prizes ranging from ₹50,000 for first place to ₹5,000 for fifth place. Additionally, three police personnel were recognised for taking effective action on complaints received through the app.
Senior officials including Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjankumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner Manoj Patil, and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav were present at the event.
Meanwhile, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and city police have jointly launched a ‘Hoarding-Free Pune’ campaign. The initiative focuses on removing illegal hoardings and abandoned vehicles that obstruct roads.
Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar urged citizens to actively use the PTP app to report traffic violations, illegal hoardings, improper parking, and other obstructions, emphasizing that public participation is key to maintaining order on city roads.
