Pune, 18 February 2026: The Vikas Kharge Committee, formed to investigate the alleged Mundhwa land scam, has submitted its report to the Maharashtra government, clearing Parth Pawar of any wrongdoing.
The committee’s report runs over 1,000 pages and shifts the responsibility for the controversial land registration to two suspended revenue officials.
According to the findings, Ravindra Taru, the suspended sub-registrar of stamp duty who is currently in jail, and Suryakant Yevale, the suspended tehsildar from the collector’s office who is on anticipatory bail, were directly responsible for registering the land in the name of Amedia Enterprises LLP, a company in which Parth Pawar holds a 99 percent stake.
The committee concluded that the officers failed to carry out proper verification before registering the land, which is government property currently leased to the Botanical Survey of India, a central government institution.
An official said that the officers had violated a government notification dated April 28, 2025, issued just 22 days before the land registration. The notification clearly prohibited the registration of government land and properties without proper 7/12 extracts or property card records.
The official added that the officers also did not ensure that ₹21 crore in stamp duty was paid, establishing serious irregularities and fixing responsibility on them.
The controversy first surfaced in November 2025, when Sheetal Tejwani, the power-of-attorney holder for the 43-acre land parcel in Mundhwa, and Digvijay Patil, Parth Pawar’s business partner, were accused of manipulating records and illegally transferring ownership rights of the land to Amedia Enterprises LLP.
Parth Pawar, however, has not been named in the FIR or the chargesheet filed in the case. The committee has left any further inquiry to the Pune Police, which is continuing its investigation based on the registered FIR.
